Random Name Picker
Pick one or multiple names randomly from your list. Perfect for drawing names, selecting team members, or making decisions.
Random Name Picker
Privacy: Names are not transmitted or saved. All picking happens in your browser.
How the Calculation Works
Names are split at commas or line breaks, trimmed, and blank entries are ignored. Each pick selects one entry at random from the names still active. Use Remove to prevent that selected entry from being picked again; Restore All resets the active pool. Duplicate names count as separate entries.
Selection happens in your browser; the list is not sent to or stored by this site.
Worked Example
Enter “Ava, Ben, Kai” and load the list. If Ava is selected and you choose Remove, the next draw is made from Ben and Kai only. Restore All makes all three entries available again.
How to Use This Calculator
Useful for: choosing a classroom participant, drawing a raffle entry, or taking turns. For a fair draw, load each eligible person once; if some people should have different odds, this tool does not support weighted entries. Copy a result if you need to record it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can a name be selected more than once?
Yes. A picked name remains available unless you select Remove. Remove eliminates the selected entry for the current round; Restore All adds the original list back.
Are duplicate names treated as one person?
No. Each entered line or comma-separated entry is treated as a separate entry, including duplicates. Remove removes entries matching the selected name.
Are the names saved?
No. The list and selection happen in your browser and are not sent to or stored by this site.
